Diver survives Fiji grey reef shark attack, pledges safety lessons
A New Zealand-based diver spearfishing in Fiji was attacked by a grey reef shark, which latched onto his calf and performed a death roll. He underwent four surgeries and a skin graft but is on the path to a full recovery. He notes other sharks were nearby, emphasizes that he was in the shark’s environment, and plans to share the footage to help others avoid a similar fate.
