A man suspected of inappropriate touching at a Minneapolis park resisted arrest, grabbed and fired a police officer's holstered gun during the struggle, but no one was seriously injured. The suspect, with a history of assault and sexual conduct, was charged with second-degree assault and disarming a peace officer, and remains in custody.
A student at a Seguin ISD elementary school accidentally discharged a loaded gun on a school bus, but no one was injured. The incident occurred as the bus entered the Jefferson Elementary School parking lot, and the bus driver promptly took the gun from the student. Seguin police are conducting an investigation, and the parents of the students involved are being contacted. The school district emphasized the seriousness of the situation and stated that possessing and discharging a firearm on school property violates state and federal law, as well as their Student Code of Conduct. School counselors will be available for support, and students are encouraged to report any unsafe activities to school staff.
