Public asked to study ransom notes in Nancy Guthrie kidnapping for new leads
Six months after Nancy Guthrie disappeared in Tucson, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and FBI Phoenix Field Office released the full ransom note and a follow-up message, urging the public to study the writer’s patterns for new leads. The notes demanded $4 million in Bitcoin and warned Guthrie would be killed if payment wasn’t received; the later note claimed she had died. Investigators say forensic work, including DNA testing, is ongoing and they’re asking anyone who recognizes the writer’s handwriting or behavioral patterns to come forward, while two videos show a masked person near Guthrie’s front door around her disappearance.
