H-E-B Pulls 35+ Jalapeño-Linked Items Over Salmonella Outbreak

H-E-B is voluntarily recalling more than 35 products containing jalapeños after a multistate Salmonella outbreak linked to jalapeños from Sinaloa, Mexico. The recall covers several Pico de Gallo varieties, Jalapeño Popper Stuffed Mushrooms, diced jalapeños, NatureBest pico de gallo, and many prepared foods (guacamole, ceviche, shrimp cocktails, deli items, cheese spreads, Mexican street corn, snack trays). Salata Dressings’ Jalapeño Avocado Dressing is also recalled. FDA reports no illnesses to date. Items were distributed to Texas and Louisiana between July 3 and August 5, 2026; a full list is on H-E-B’s site.

H-E-B removed more than 45 products after NatureBest Precut & Produce LLC recalled jalapeño peppers supplied by Coast Citrus Distributors, linked to a multistate Salmonella outbreak tied to jalapeños from Sinaloa, Mexico. NatureBest halted distribution and is cooperating with regulators; recalled items include NatureBest-branded products and several H-E-B items. All other current store stock is considered safe.
