Hafley Urges Growth After Dolphins' Rough Opener Loss to Raiders
After a 27-13 loss to the Raiders, Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley called the opener inconsistent and disappointing but said the fight was there and noted positives like improved run defense and tackling; he backed Malik Willis despite an interception, attributed the loss in part to penalties and special-teams miscues, and outlined rotations at safety among Zayne Anderson, Michael Taaffe and Dante Trader Jr. Hafley also said JuJu Brents could be fined if taunting is confirmed, acknowledged Kyle Louis was ruled out with a knee injury, and praised how rookies responded while stressing the need for better communication and play-calling as the season unfolds.
