Simpsons' Apu Returns with New Voice in Halloween Episode
Apu Nahasapeemapetilon has returned to The Simpsons after nearly a decade of silence, voiced by Sunil Malhotra in the October 18 episode 'The Revengening.' The character, previously voiced by Hank Azaria, had been seen but not heard since 2017 due to controversy over racial stereotypes. Malhotra, who has extensive voice acting credits, described the return as a 'reclamation' of the character. The episode features Apu as a vengeful figure in a Halloween-themed plot, addressing the show's past handling of the character. Showrunner Matt Selman confirmed that Apu and his wife Manjula will appear more frequently in future episodes.
