Janson Herring, an 8-year-old third-grader in Harnett County, N.C., has been diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a rare and inoperable brain tumor. His family is preparing for six weeks of radiation therapy at Duke Children’s Hospital and is exploring clinical trials in Seattle.
