Viral Bar Chat Allegations Complicate Oilman Harry Sargeant's Ties to Trump Administration
A viral Instagram post by comedian Suzanne Lambert alleging that oil executive Harry Sargeant criticized President Trump during a D.C. bar conversation has intensified tensions between Sargeant and the Trump administration. Sargeant’s legal team denies the claims, but the incident coincides with recent sanctions against his companies and his exclusion from major Venezuelan oil deals. The episode highlights the administration’s sensitivity to perceived disloyalty, particularly regarding Sargeant’s past business dealings with former Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and his complex history with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
