Portland Hearts of Pine Proposes Waterfront Soccer Stadium at Cassidy Point
Portland Hearts of Pine unveiled plans to build a 9,000–11,000-seat soccer stadium at Cassidy Point, transforming a former coal-storage site into a permanent home for the club’s men’s and women’s teams. The project is estimated at over $50 million and will be predominantly privately funded, with construction slated to begin in 2027 and an opening target in early 2029. The club will continue playing at Fitzpatrick Stadium during development, and the plan includes waterfront access enhancements while keeping the 600-foot pier zoned for marine use.
