Unveiling Rare Cosmic Events through Neutrino Discovery
Researchers at CERN have generated high-energy neutrino radiation in the laboratory, which will significantly improve the scientific community's understanding of some of the most energetic and destructive environments in the cosmos. High-energy neutrinos are created only in exceptional circumstances, such as colliding neutron stars, gamma ray bursts, and pulsars. Scientists can also generate neutrinos using particle beams like the ones at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. The most powerful particle accelerator in the world, the Large Hadron Collider, was used to create and detect very-high-energy neutrinos, which will help astronomers gain a much better understanding of cosmic phenomena.
