ESA Unveils Stunning High-Res Images of Mars
The European Space Agency (ESA) has released new high-resolution photos of Mars taken by the Mars Express orbiter, which has been in space for 20 years. These images showcase a variety of colors and compositions, including orange areas representing oxidized iron, gray-toned sections from basaltic sands, and paler regions possibly indicating the presence of water. The photos also feature Valles Marineris, a system of canyons on Mars. In celebration of the orbiter's anniversary, ESA conducted its first-ever livestream of Mars, capturing stunning visuals. The Mars Express has exceeded its life expectancy and continues to provide valuable research on Mars.
