Fugitive’s wrong-way sprint on Highway 4 triggers multi-car crash in Concord
A woman fleeing police in a white Honda Civic drove the wrong way on Highway 4 near Concord on Saturday, October 10, causing a head-on collision with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The crash, which occurred at 6:13 p.m., closed all four lanes of the freeway and resulted in minor injuries to the Jeep driver. A male passenger fled the scene on foot but was subsequently arrested, while the woman was taken into custody at the crash site. CHP spokesman Dan Gilmore confirmed that drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors, though the reason for the initial pursuit remains unknown.
