USF double murder charges: roommate linked to deaths of two Bangladeshi PhD students
Two Bangladeshi USF doctoral students disappeared in mid-April. Authorities charged off-campus roommate Hisham Abugharbieh with two counts of first-degree premeditated murder with a weapon after Zamil Limon's remains were found on the Howard Frankland Bridge and Nahida Bristy remained missing. Abugharbieh, who has prior arrests, barricaded himself during a standoff before surrendering. Limon (27, geography/environment policy) and Bristy (27, chemical engineering) were a couple; investigators say Bristy’s status is still unresolved while autopsy results for Limon are pending.
