Commanders Unveil 2030 Stadium Bowl Design: Acoustics, Sightlines, and RFK Legacy
The Washington Commanders and design firm HKS released the first visual renderings of the seating bowl for their new stadium, scheduled to open in 2030. The designs emphasize a continuous, unified bowl structure inspired by the historic RFK Stadium to maximize crowd noise and sightlines. Key features include a dedicated 'Wall of Fans' section with affordable seating, a cable-net roof for transparency, and a halo video board system. The project, funded by $2.7 billion from the team and $1.1 billion in public money, aims to create one of the loudest and most immersive venues in the NFL.
