The match resumed with 12 minutes of added time after messages were displayed warning fans of expulsion and possible abandonment. The confederation condemned the discriminatory chanting and is investigating further. FIFA has repeatedly sanctioned Mexico for homophobic chanting at their matches. The USMNT will face Canada in Sunday's final.
