Tim Shaw and Steve Gleason Named Honorary Captains for Titans-Saints Season Opener
Former Titans linebacker Tim Shaw, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2014, and former Saints safety Steve Gleason, who was diagnosed with ALS after eight seasons with the Saints, will serve as honorary captains for the Titans-Saints season opener. This will be the first time Shaw travels with the team. Both coaches agreed to have Shaw and Gleason as honorary captains to raise awareness about ALS. Shaw will represent the Titans at the coin toss, while Gleason will stand alongside the Saints' captains.
