Koji Suzuki, Creator of Ring, Dies at 68
Koji Suzuki, the Japanese author best known for the horror novel Ring, died at a Tokyo hospital at age 68. His 1991 Ring sparked a global horror boom via film adaptations, and he earned awards including the Eiji Yoshikawa Prize for Rasen and the Shirley Jackson Award for Edge; his works also include Dark Water, Promenade of the Gods, Ubiquitous, and his debut Rakuen (Paradise).
