Second Mandelson papers ready for release amid Epstein links scrutiny
A second batch of documents about Lord Mandelson’s appointment as UK ambassador to the US will be published on Monday after a Humble Address process and ISC review. The first tranche, published in March, showed concerns about Mandelson’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and a reputational risk ahead of his confirmation. Mandelson was sacked last year, and the government says all relevant papers will be released with redactions where needed, except material withheld for security, diplomacy, or police investigations.
