Listeria Outbreak: Recalled Ice Cream Cups Linked to Hospitalizations and Contamination
The US FDA, CDC, and local health officials are investigating a Listeria outbreak that may be linked to Soft Serve On The Go ice cream cups. Two people have fallen ill and were hospitalized after consuming the vanilla chocolate ice cream cups made by Real Kosher Ice Cream. The ice cream company has recalled all its products and temporarily halted production. Consumers in 19 US states, as well as several other countries, are advised to discard or return the products. Listeria infection can cause severe symptoms, especially in pregnant women, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems.
