Twitter Policy Sparks Illegal Film Uploads & Mario Movie Breaks Records
Twitter's recent policy change allowing Twitter Blue subscribers to upload 60-minute videos has led to the illegal upload of blockbuster films, including "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" and "Avatar: The Way of Water." The films were uploaded by users @OMGitssAshley and @vidsthatgohard, with the latter amassing over 9 million views before being taken down. The ease of uploading was due to a recent policy change, and content moderators who could have caught the uploads were among those laid off by Twitter. Both accounts have since been suspended.
