Imagery-based therapy trims fear of failure by reworking childhood memories
A randomized clinical trial found imagery-based psychotherapy, including Imagery Exposure and Imagery Rescripting (with a delayed variant), can produce lasting reductions in fear of failure and negative emotions by reframing painful childhood memories, with effects persisting at three- and six-month follow-ups and a key role for surprise/prediction error in facilitating change.
