Synchrony and OpenAI aim to enable in-chat purchases with store-branded cards in ChatGPT
Synchrony Financial, issuer for brands like Amazon and Lowe’s, is teaming with OpenAI to let shoppers use store-branded cards to buy directly inside ChatGPT, marking a major step toward in-chat purchases; full integration is expected in six to 12 months, with private-label cards potentially taking longer and fee arrangements still to be negotiated, while Synchrony also plans a ChatGPT plugin and expanding card use to other AI platforms.
