Credit Drama Follows Rising Star Stella Lefty as Fans Question Similarities
Rising musician Stella Lefty has become the internet’s focus after fans highlighted melodic similarities to Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season” and The Chicks’ “There’s Your Trouble,” with retroactive credits added for both cases; critics also branded her an “industry plant” because of her billionaire father, Eric Lefkofsky. Lefty and her team deny the label, saying she’s built on her own music and fan support as she promotes her debut album Long Way Home, while other alleged echoes continue to fuel the debate about originality and credit in pop music.
