Packers lean on depth as Van Ness clears, Hargrave out for Jets game
Green Bay’s Week 2 matchup at the Jets features Lukas Van Ness cleared to play while Javon Hargrave is out after failing concussion protocol, leaving the Packers thin at defensive tackle behind Warren Brinson. The team did not elevate any practice-squad players, sticking with a five-man DT rotation and preparing Anthony Campbell for his NFL debut. Pierre Strong wasn’t elevated, Nyjalik Kelly and Domani Jackson weren’t promoted, and Eric Johnson remains on the practice squad. Jets upgraded with kicker Jason Sanders and LB Troy Reeder; Omar Cooper was placed on IR. The takeaway: Green Bay must rely on its current depth and run game against a Jets offense that could test the defense down the middle.
