AI-designed drug hints at reversing biological clocks in early trial
An AI-designed drug, rentosertib from Insilico Medicine, showed signals of younger biological age across six aging clocks in a small phase 2a trial for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Treated participants appeared 2.7–3.5 years younger on several clocks at week four, while two mortality clocks showed no change; however, researchers caution that results may be influenced by lung-improvement effects and cannot prove anti-aging benefits yet. A larger phase 3 trial for lung disease is planned to further investigate any true health effects.
