Framework Laptop 12 Turbocharges Entry-Level with Core Series 3 and Linux By Default
Framework updates its entry-level Laptop 12 with Intel Core Series 3 CPUs (Core 3/5/7), up to 48GB RAM, and DDR5 RAM; optional backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader. The model ships with Fedora Linux by default (Windows 11 can be added for $100). Pre-built Linux configurations start at $699, DIY options from $549, and the laptop ships in October. Notably, the Core 5 version demonstrated about 70% longer Netflix streaming battery life versus the original Core i5 model, and Thunderbolt 4 support is available on two of the four expansion cards.
