Sudan's Humanitarian Crisis: Over 700,000 Internally Displaced.
The number of internally displaced people in Sudan has risen to over 700,000 due to fighting between rival military factions, with fears of further escalation despite ceasefire talks in Saudi Arabia. Air strikes and ground battles continue in the capital Khartoum, with entire neighbourhoods becoming empty as residents flee their homes. The UN has warned that people are running out of cash and basic supplies like fuel. The conflict has killed over 600 people and wounded 5,000. Representatives of the army and Rapid Support Forces are holding talks to negotiate a ceasefire.
