FAA seeks $165,000 penalty after Alaska Airlines allegedly boarded intoxicated passengers
The Federal Aviation Administration has proposed a $165,000 civil penalty against Alaska Airlines for allegedly letting intoxicated passengers board 11 flights between February 2024 and February 2025, a violation of safety rules. Alaska Airlines says it cooperated with an FAA audit and has since implemented changes including enhanced crew and staff training. The airline has 30 days to respond, with options to dispute, negotiate, or pay; failure to respond could limit its ability to challenge the penalty.
