Democratic rebels face sanctions after aiding GOP agenda
Two House Democrats, Rep. Jared Golden and Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, crossed party lines to advance a GOP procedural rule reviving the Republicans’ agenda, prompting House Democratic leaders to promise a ‘serious response’ and refer them to the caucus rules panel for potential sanctions; Golden cited backing a lobstermen bill as his reason, Perez did not comment. The episode, along with other splits inside the caucus on issues like socialism condemnation, underscores growing intraparty tensions ahead of the midterms.
