YouTube brings back in-app DMs with invite-based rollout
YouTube is reviving its in-app direct messaging feature (originally launched in 2017) with an invite-based system that lets users share videos and chat within the app. To start, you invite friends via third‑party apps; they must accept within seven days or the invite expires. The feature supports forwarding videos, chat, and unsending messages (only from your side when deleted). Availability is currently limited to select countries as Google tests the rollout.
