Iowa Governor Debate: Sand and Lahn Clash on Economy, Education, and Health
Democrat Rob Sand and Republican Zach Lahn faced off in the first of four Iowa gubernatorial debates on October 6, hosted by KWQC in Davenport. The hour-long event, moderated by William Ingalls, covered the economy, a proposed steel mill, education, and healthcare. While Sand emphasized his 'Affordability for All' plan to lower costs and raise the minimum wage, Lahn defended the current economic status quo. The debate featured heated exchanges, including a moment where Sand accused Lahn of attacking his minor children. Sand currently leads in polling, but Republicans hold a significant registered voter advantage in the state.
