"Debunking the Myth of Blue Light Keeping You Up at Night"

A study led by University of Basel chronobiologist Christine Blume suggests that the perceived color of light may not have as significant an impact on sleep patterns as previously thought. The study found that the perceived color of light did not affect the duration or quality of sleep patterns in healthy adult volunteers. Instead, all three light conditions tested caused a sleep delay, indicating that light in general may have a more complex impact on sleep cycles. The findings suggest that the way cones perceive a range of wavelengths and the intensity of light could play a role in influencing our body's daily rhythms, challenging the conventional wisdom about the impact of blue light on sleep.
