
Brazilian Triathlete Dies During Ironman Texas Swim
A Brazilian fitness influencer, Mara Flavia Souza Araujo, 38, died after drowning during the swimming portion of Ironman Texas at Lake Woodlands near Houston; she was recovered from about 10 feet of water and authorities say the preliminary cause of death is drowning. She had more than 60,000 Instagram followers and had completed at least nine triathlons in the past nine years. Race organizers offered condolences and stated they would support her family, with no immediate comment from event officials.
