Isle Royale hiker rescued after 11-day, remote-backcountry ordeal
A 70-year-old backpacker, Craig Berg, was found alive after spending 11 days lost in Isle Royale’s remote backcountry. A massive, multi-agency search spanning land, water, and air culminated in Berg being located by fellow backpackers and airlifted by the Coast Guard to a hospital, where he was treated for dehydration and hypothermia.
