Angels Lose Kochanowicz to Tommy John, Out Through 2027
Angels right-hander Jack Kochanowicz will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the rest of 2026 and likely the second half of 2027, moving to the 60-day IL when a roster spot is needed. He has logged 240 1/3 MLB innings over three seasons with a 5.88 ERA and a 54.6% ground-ball rate, and his absence further weakens an Angels rotation already hampered by injuries as Soriano, Detmers, Ureña and Rodriguez start, with Kikuchi sidelined.
