Florida AG Arrests Kissimmee Mayor Jackie Espinosa on Grand Theft and Fraud Charges
Kissimmee Mayor Jackie Espinosa was arrested on Wednesday morning by Florida state officials and charged with grand theft and an organized scheme to defraud. The arrest follows months of political turmoil, including a failed impeachment attempt and an ethics censure related to the distribution of $50,000 in pandemic relief grants to businesses owned by the mayor and her family. Espinosa is currently held without bond in Osceola County Jail, and a news conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. to provide further details.
