Brewers Take 3-0 Lead Over Dodgers as Bauers and Gasser Deliver Historic Performances

The Milwaukee Brewers have taken a 3-0 lead in the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, putting the defending champions on the brink of elimination. After losing Game 3 6-2, the Dodgers face a historic deficit, trailing by three games to zero. The Brewers' success has been driven by unexpected contributions from journeyman first baseman Jake Bauers and rookie pitcher Robert Gasser. Bauers hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the seventh inning of Game 3, following a 12-pitch walk in Game 2 that helped remove Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Gasser pitched five scoreless innings in his second career postseason start, becoming the first rookie to achieve a spotless start against the defending champions. The Brewers are now one win away from reaching the World Series for the first time since 1982.

Injury Woes Continue for Yankees' Nestor Cortes

Aaron Judge may need to go on the IL after injuring his toe during a running catch that left a dent in the bullpen door. Nestor Cortes has been IL’d due to a shoulder problem, but it is not expected to be serious. Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson have returned from the IL, but managing their playing time along with other veterans will be a challenge for the Yankees. Jake Bauers has been a valuable platoon option for the team, hitting well against right-handed pitching.
