Pirates Put O'Hearn on 10-Day IL, Mangum Rejoins Roster
The Pirates placed Ryan O'Hearn on the 10-day injured list with a right quad strain after an awkward move chasing a foul ball in Tuesday's 6-0 loss to the Phillies; Jake Mangum is activated to take his spot on the 26-man roster. O'Hearn has been productive this season (.289/.368/.459 with seven homers in 182 plate appearances, 132 wRC+) and will be out as Triolo, Yorke, or Billy Cook handle right field and first base. An MRI confirmed the strain, and Mangum's return from a short IL stint should help fill the void while O'Hearn is out. Triple-A outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia remains waiting for a call-up.
