Japanese celebrities have reportedly been advised not to mention the game Palworld in public or on social media to avoid potential backlash from The Pokémon Company, following accusations of plagiarism. The Pokémon Company stated it is investigating if Palworld infringes on its IP rights and has not granted permission for the use of Pokémon intellectual property. Despite the controversy, Palworld has seen huge success, becoming the biggest third-party Game Pass launch on Xbox to date.
