
Former NC officer arrested in Florida for planned mass shooting at Jazz Fest
A veteran North Carolina law enforcement officer, Christopher Gillum, was arrested in Florida on charges that he planned to travel to New Orleans to stage a mass shooting at the Jazz & Heritage Festival and then commit suicide by cop; authorities found a handgun and about 200 rounds in his hotel room, and he awaits extradition to Louisiana. Gillum previously worked for the Chapel Hill Police Department, Carolina Beach Police Department, and Orange County Sheriff's Office.
