Abe Foxman, longtime director of the Anti-Defamation League, died at 86. A Holocaust survivor who led the ADL for nearly three decades, he expanded the organization’s research on extremism, championed immigrant and LGBTQ rights, and counseled presidents and diplomats to counter hate—advocating that open dialogue and apologies can help reduce antisemitism.
