President Trump pardoned five ex-NFL players—Joe Klecko, Nate Newton, Jamal Lewis, Travis Henry and Billy Cannon—for crimes ranging from perjury to drug trafficking, according to White House pardon czar Alice Marie Johnson.
Former New York Jets defensive lineman Joe Klecko, part of the iconic Sack Exchange, was finally inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame after a 30-year wait. Klecko made 78 sacks in his 11 seasons with the Jets, with 54 of them coming before 1982 when defensive sacks were officially recorded. In his acceptance speech, Klecko expressed gratitude and emphasized his dedication to the game, stating that he always aimed to win every battle on the field. He concluded by acknowledging his faith and giving credit to God for his blessings.
The New York Jets have unveiled their "Legacy White" throwback uniforms, reminiscent of the popular uniforms worn by the team from 1979-89. The Jets will wear these throwbacks in two regular-season games, paying homage to the Sack Exchange Era. The uniforms feature a Sack Exchange logo decal on the helmet, double-stripe shoulders, and single-stripe pants. MetLife Stadium will also be updated with Legacy branding, and a special Legacy Collection is now available for fans. This release coincides with Joe Klecko's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, along with Darrelle Revis.
