Slam Frank Returns Off-Broadway: A Satirical Musical That Mocks Woke Culture and Antisemitism
The musical satire Slam Frank has opened its Off-Broadway run at the Orpheum Theatre, featuring a reimagining of Anne Frank as a Latinx rapper named Anita Franco. Created by Andrew Fox and Joel Sinensky, the show uses a meta-theatrical frame to critique modern identity politics, Hamilton-style musicals, and contemporary cultural discourse. While praised for its bold, provocative humor and strong musical composition, critics are divided on its effectiveness, with some finding it exhausting or overly familiar, while others applaud its daring willingness to offend all sides.
