Remembering Randolph Mantooth, TV’s Emergency! Star, Dies at 80
Randolph Mantooth, best known for playing firefighter-paramedic Johnny Gage on NBC’s Emergency!, has died at 80 in a Ventura, California hospice after a long illness. The 1970s series, which ran six seasons, made him a TV icon and he did many of his own stunts. Mantooth later reprised the role on other shows and remained a longtime advocate for firefighters and EMTs. He is survived by his wife Kristen and his siblings Donald and Tonya.
