
French screen icon Nathalie Baye dies at 77 after dementia battle
Nathalie Baye, the award-winning French actress known for Downton Abbey: A New Era, has died aged 77 in Paris after Lewy body dementia. A prolific film and TV star since the 1970s who won César Awards, she is the mother of Laura Smet from her relationship with Johnny Hallyday; Downton Abbey: A New Era marked her last on-screen appearance.
