Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey was placed on lockdown after reports of an active shooter, but the lockdown has since been lifted and all members of the Air Force base have been confirmed safe. The base, located southeast of Trenton, spans multiple towns and counties and is the only tri-service base in the United States. It originated in 1941 and merged with other military bases in 2009 to form JBMDL.
