Chess Broadway Revival Closes Early as Lea Michele Exits
The Broadway revival of Chess will close early on June 21 to align with Lea Michele’s exit; JoJo Levesque was set to take over the lead through at least September, but the closing date was moved to coincide with Michele’s departure after the show had strong opening demand yet waning attendance, and despite five Tony nominations Michele and Tveit were snubbed in the lead categories.
