Barry Keoghan to Star in Top Boy Prequel Jonny Boy for Netflix
Netflix has greenlit Jonny Boy, a five-episode Top Boy prequel led and produced by Barry Keoghan, who will reprise Jonny McGee and executive-produce via Wolfcub. Creator-writer Ronan Bennett returns, with Drake among the executive producers, and Ali Abbasi attached to direct. Filming is set to begin in 2027. The series expands on Jonny McGee’s origin story within the Top Boy universe, following the show’s BAFTA-winning Netflix revival and 2023 finale.
