Bears favored at Lambeau for first time since 2006 as Packers face third-down crisis

The Chicago Bears are favored by three points at Lambeau Field for the first time since 2006, despite starting backup quarterback Tyson Bagent. The Packers, who lost linebacker Edgerrin Cooper in Week 4, face a critical mismatch: their league-worst 26% third-down conversion rate against Chicago’s elite 24% third-down defense. While Green Bay’s offense struggles with dropped passes and penalties, the Bears’ run game leads the NFL, creating a significant disadvantage for the hosts in this rivalry showdown.

Packers Survive Bucs Upset Bid Despite Self-Inflicted Offense

The Green Bay Packers secured a 17-14 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, reaching a 2-2 record despite significant offensive struggles. The win was largely attributed to defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon’s adjustments and safety Evan Williams’ critical late-game pressures. However, the Packers’ offense continued to suffer from self-inflicted errors, including multiple fumbles, dropped passes, and penalties, which nearly cost them the game against an undrafted rookie quarterback. The Buccaneers, now 0-4, failed to convert a late drive due to protection issues, marking their first loss to a team with a winning record this season.

Packers Complete Offensive Line Overhaul with Signing of Veteran Guard Kevin Zeitler

The Green Bay Packers have signed 36-year-old veteran guard Kevin Zeitler to a one-year deal, finalizing a rapid reconstruction of their offensive line after a disastrous start to the 2026 season. Zeitler, a Wisconsin native and former Badgers standout, joins the team to replace inexperienced starter Jacob Monk and provide stability for quarterback Jordan Love. This move follows the recent acquisitions of guards Laken Tomlinson and Mekhi Becton, transforming the unit from the league's least experienced to one of the most seasoned. While the team faces a learning curve for these new additions, the coaching staff believes Zeitler’s 213 career starts and 14 years of NFL experience will immediately address pass-protection issues and improve run blocking before the Week 4 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Scout Blames Packers' Offensive Line Chaos for Jordan Love's Struggles

A scout for a future opponent identified the Green Bay Packers' chaotic offensive line as the primary cause of their 1-2 start and Jordan Love's poor statistics. Following a 35-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, the scout noted that Love is being 'kicked in the legs' by a lack of support, specifically citing the absence of a physical running back and an inconsistent line. The Packers have cycled through six offensive line combinations in three games, leading to the signing of veteran guard Kevin Zeitler. While the defense struggled against Bijan Robinson, the scout praised the secondary and pass rushers, arguing that the team's talent remains intact despite the early-season collapse.

Packers rookie Dennis-Sutton urges patience after 21-point home loss

Green Bay Packers rookie linebacker Dani Dennis-Sutton posted a blunt message on X urging fans not to give up on the team after a 21-point home loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The Packers are 1-2, their worst start since 2014, and fans booed the team early in the game. The loss exposed severe offensive line issues, a lack of run game, and defensive struggles against Bijan Robinson. Dennis-Sutton, a fourth-round pick, has nine tackles in three games and is optimistic about the return of mentor Micah Parsons in mid-October. The team is 1-7 in its last eight games overall, and while 14 games remain, analysts question if the current roster can replicate the 2014 comeback.
