Maine Black Bears Fire Offensive Coordinator Amid Historic Scoring Drought
University of Maine head coach Jordan Stevens has dismissed offensive coordinator Mikahael Waters following a 1-5 start and a five-game losing streak. Running backs coach Sean Green will serve as interim offensive coordinator and play caller, while offensive analyst Cooper Heisey moves to the running backs position. The decision follows a 24-16 loss to Sacred Heart and a season in which the Black Bears rank 118th in the FCS for points per game. Stevens emphasized the need for consistency and scoring, stating that the team must be in a better position to win. The Black Bears have a bye week before hosting Bryant on October 17.
